Owning a space in the digital world

So what does it feel like starting a digital career in this age and time?

So to date, I’ve tried to be so many things —

  • Social Media Manager
  • Content Creator
  • Brand Designer
  • Graphic Artist
  • Virtual Assistant

But here I am, coming back home to blogging.

Ever since I found out about the internet, I knew I wanted to become a blogger. I knew I wanted to write. I never wanted to become a fashion blogger or travel blogger. But I wanted to write about my day and I want to… inspire. No joke, that is the exact term I’ve been using since day 1. No bullshit, just pure real talk and inspire people to just be themselves.

I didn’t know at that time that it is possible to make a career out of blogging. Should I have known, I took it extra seriously.

Alam niyo bang kasabayan kong blogger sila Vern Enciso, Kryzz Uy, Anna Oposa, Patty Laurel, Saab Magalona, Patricia Prieto, Cheyz Pedragosa, etc?! We are the real OG bloggers!! HAHAHA but just look at where they are now, and where I am now. 😭😭

But now, 14 years later, I still want to blog and inspire.

You know what my blogging goals are? Nakakahiya man but –

  • To build a community
  • To be invited to talk to schools
  • To be invited by my alma mater (!!!) for a talk
  • To receive emails from strangers how they can relate to my blog
  • To host a meet-and-greet with my readers HAHA

Sobrang ambisyosa niyan???????????? But seriously, I just want to talk and use my voice in conversations that matter.

And with thaaaaaat..

I am working on something right now. I just finished conceptualizing and all that. Few more polishing and I am ready to launch.

THIS IS SCARY ESPECIALLY NOW THAT WE ARE IN A TIME THAT EVERYONE, AS IN EVERYONE, IS FINDING THEIR PLACE IN THE DIGITAL WORLD. Unlike when I started blogging, there are no niche bloggers and everyone is just writing and doesn’t care about the vanity metrics.

Oh well, wish me luck.
